AR Glass Fibre

Made from a specially formulated AR glass containing a high concentration of zirconia (ZrO₂), ARG Chopped Strands are engineered for optimal performance in alkaline cement environments. Each strand bundle consists of 50 to 200 fine filaments, chopped to specific lengths for easy dispersion. They are widely used in GFRC, calcium silicate products, and as a crack-control additive in standard concrete and mortar mixes.

The fibres offer excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and stiffness, while remaining non-corrosive and non-reactive—making them ideal for use in exposed or thin-section applications. When mixing, it’s recommended to add ARG Fibers later in the process to minimise breakage or filamentisation. Care should also be taken during finishing to prevent fibre visibility on exposed surfaces, especially compared to finer monofilament types.
