Blend Concrete Design , QLD
Blend Concrete Design was commissioned to deliver a suite of custom GFRC concrete elements for the communal rooftop area of Hillyard House in Queensland. The project included three uniquely shaped GFRC concrete tables and a set of concrete BBQ benchtops, all designed to enhance the functionality and aesthetic of this shared public space located on the rooftop.
Working closely with high-end furniture designer @furn_niche_ and the team at @pellicano_property, we were engaged from the early concept phase through to final installation.
The GFRC concrete tables—each individually shaped—serve as sculptural centrepieces across the rooftop, offering durable, low-maintenance surfaces that invite communal use. Complementing these are the concrete BBQ benchtops, which were designed to integrate seamlessly into the outdoor cooking areas, providing a robust and refined finish that balances performance with architectural appeal.
Together, these pieces contribute to a cohesive and welcoming environment that encourages residents and guests to gather, dine, and connect in a space that’s as functional as it is thoughtfully designed.
